Partial dentures are the option for replacing many teeth and restoring a healthy, confident smile
Fundamental to New Leaf Dental in Meridian, Idaho, is our commitment to treating each person as the unique individual that they are. We account for every aspect of our one-of-kind patients – from their lifestyle and habits to diet and budgetary concerns. To that last item, we also partner closely with patients to ensure that financial constraints never stand in the way of getting the best, most desirable treatments to restore or maintain their healthy smiles.
So, like our patients, the services that our dentists provide are also diverse. If you miss several teeth or groups of teeth, we can recommend a range of partial denture designs. Some partials may even be retrofitted to take advantage of modern implant systems and the benefits that go along with them.
The “basics”
Partial dentures are generally made from materials such as metal alloys and acrylic. These materials are color-matched to blend in with the surrounding gums and teeth. In turn, the prosthetic teeth blend in with the remaining natural teeth. These teeth sit on a base or framework designed to blend in with the pink-red color of the natural gums. Various attachments can be used to hold the partial denture in place; for instance, some attachments may connect to existing teeth.
Many of the complaints associated with conventional partial and complete dentures alike have to do with poor fit and inferior craftsmanship. At New Leaf Dental, we use precision technologies to aid in designing dentures that are made to your mouth’s specifications. This seamless fit supports comfortable and efficient chewing, clear speech, and overall function. Detailed planning on the front end, along with quality materials, also results in teeth and gums that look natural. There is no concern that teeth will look “plastic” – like the “false teeth” of yesteryear. Our patients smile confidently and love to show off their new, unblemished teeth!
Options for all smiles
We also work with patients to help them transition to wearing dentures. There are exercises that can be suggested to aid in adjusting to speaking and eating with your new teeth. Our team will also get you on a schedule of regular appointments at our practice. During these visits, we ensure that your dentures are holding up well. Adjustments and repairs can be made or recommended for follow-up visits.
We may also discuss alternatives to conventional dentures, for instance, implant-supported bridges and dentures. Some traditional systems can be “retrofitted” with dental implants placed in the jaw.
